JROTC has taught me a multitude of things such a leadership, teamwork, and dedication that a lot of other classes do not teach. The lessons I have already learned through this program have helped me improve in school and life, immensely.
My Goals for this year include, keeping high grades in all of my classes, get my GPA above 4.5 and lead the battalion to greatness. I want to leave a legacy for future Cadets.
After high school, I plan on attending a 4-year university and major in Computer Science with a Cyber Security focus.
c/CPT Jose de Pilar Santiago – Battalion Executive Officer
I decided to complete my fourth year in JROTC because it has been the only place where I am constantly being pushed to get work done and it has been a place where I can be myself and not be judged.
The program has really brought my confidence level up and have taught me how to do things that are out of my comfort zone.
I encourage young people to join the program not because of military things, but for the experience you get and the motivation it gives you. I really love the program and I would join it again, if I couild.
c/CSM Jadyn Harris - Battalion Command Sergeant Major
I stayed in JROTC because I love that my JROTC peers became family. JROTC taught me teamwork, how to be a better leader and how to communicate respectfully.
My Goals for this year are to make the A Honor Roll and create a growth mindset instead of a fixed mindset.
After high school, I plan to go to college and become either an interior designer or a veterinarian.
c/2LT Randall Crew - Battalion Plans, Operations and Training Officer (S3)
This is my 4th year of JROTC and I am excited for what this year has in store for me and my fellow Cadets! I have learned so much from this class and have made so many new friends who know what it's like to be a JROTC Cadet. It is never easy with this class and I've had my fair share of challenges with it but all it has done is taught me how to be resilient and how to adapt to change and how to grow as a person.
My goal this year is graduate with a GPA of 3.5 and to help guide my Cadets through this year of high school and help them grow to be better people in life.
After high school, I plan to attend a 4-year university and major in Psychology and work hard to become a Sports Psychologist.
c/SGT Roman Mock - Battalion Plans, Operations and Training NCOIC
I have continued participating in the Enloe JROTC program because it is necessary for me to continue learning how to lead so that one day I can be the best version of myself. On my first day of school, I transferred from Healthful Living and was unsure if I had made a mistake.
After 3 years, I am confident I have made the right choice. I am no longer afraid to speak out when I know others are wrong. I step up when everyone else is afraid to lead, and I know what it takes to get people to follow me.
After high school, I plan to attend NC State with a ROTC Scholarship and become a Software Engineer. With the skills I have learned in JROTC, I will be more than just a worker at my company and will leave a lasting impact.
c/1LT Jennifer Flores-Maltos - Battalion Administrative Officer (S1)
I came back to JROTC because of the people I have met. Coming into JROTC after the lockdown, I was unsure of what I wanted to do after graduation and had little confidence in myself as a person. But now in my senior year, I know what I want to do after graduation.
For this year, my plan is to graduate on time with good grades and before I leave I also want to know what I want to do after graduation and be more self-confident.
After high school, I plan on joining the military and having them pay for my college education.
c/SFC Alexandra Hall - Battalion Administrative NCOIC
I joined JROTC in my freshman year because my dad encouraged me to join. He thought it would be a good way to learn basic disciplinary and life skills. My mom was surprised I actually decided to join and so was I because I had no interest in it at first. Although I didn't think I would enjoy it, once I started meeting people in the program and got used to the environment, I enjoyed it, and it became my favorite class.
To me the best part of the program is the people. I want to help other Cadets like I was helped when I was a LET I. There are so many people I consider family in this program, and I want to give new Cadets that same experience.
After high school, I plan on attending a 4-year university. As of right now, I am unsure of my plans, but I have always wanted a job where I can help others.
c/2LT Rilca Bikoumou - Battalion Intelligence and Security Officer (S2)
I enjoy doing JROTC because it pushes me to become a better person and a better leader. It helps not only my body, but also my mind to be better and stronger.
I love meeting new people and going to different places and I have been able to do that because of this program. I got to learn so many new things since I have joined and have while doing them. We always support each other and we all get on each other's nerves because it's like one big family.
After high school, I plan to go into the military and this program has helped me feel better about my decision and helped me learn about what I want to do when I join.
c/xxx xxxxxxxxx - Battalion Intelligence and Security NCO (S2)
c/1LT Esmenis Santos-Banegas - Battalion Logistics Officer (S4) I have spent three years, including drill, in the JROTC program. I have always dreamed of finishing all four years, and I continue to strive for it, but I never realized the difficulties that would be involved
My character and wisdom have both improved as a result of the challenges and tribulations I've faced in this program. There is a saying that goes, "You never really try, if you haven't failed." JROTC was designed to help you develop as a person, not for the weak. I won't say I was timid at first, but it has unquestionably assisted me in embracing my huge personality. You enter as one person and leave as another, is all I can say.
My plans after high school are to enroll at Wake Tech Community College, transfer to UNC for a Nursing Degree and eventually become an ultrasound technician. The three years of my life have been the most interesting ones yet, packed with discipline, hard work and so much more. However, the friendships and memories are what matter the most to me.
c/SSG Katie Cantor Martinez - Logistics Tech NCO (S4 NCOIC)
I came back to JROTC because over the years the program has given me the motivation and commitment I need to develop myself as a person and a leader, I am not in my third year and the program has allowed me to see and do many things that I couldn't before and helped me feel confident over the years.
This year, I hope to help my new peers build themselves in the program as I did and teach them values that will help them become a better version of themselves. .
After high school, I plan to attend a 4-year university, continue in a SROTC program and then go into the US Air Force as an aircraft engineer.
c/2LT Sajjan Bhave - Battalion Public Affairs OIC & Battalion Signal (Comms) & Newsletter Officer
I joined JROTC not knowing what to expect, but as I have continued with the program, I have grown to love it. I am a junior, entering my third year in JROTC and I participate in many extracurricular activities wit the program such as Drill Team, Academic Bowl Team and Leadership Bowl Team. I have learned that whatever you put into the program is what you get out of it. I am confident that my choice to stay in the program was the right one.
My plans for this year are to achieve A Honor Roll and go the the Drill Nationals with the Drill Team. In addition to that, I want to motivate all of the Cadets to improve and work towards being my best self.
In the future, I plan to study in college and find my passion.

c/2LT Aidan Schroeder - Alpha Company Commander
I decided to join JROTC because my friends joined it but ended up enjoying the program itself and stayed for the skills I learned and the people I met who shared similar interests and goals as me and eventually had become a part of a network I never thought I would have.
I decided to come back so I can have the chance to teach and influence the new Cadets in a way that builds them up and has them learn about themselves and become a better version of themselves that will in turn make them want to do the same for others.
After high school, I will be enlisting as a Marine. From there I want to become a Mechanic on Heavy equipment and hopefully create a career out of this as I truly enjoy the atmosphere of others pushing others to their maximum.
c/SSG Autumn Fingerson - Alpha Company First Sergeant
I initially joined JROTC because I didn't want to take Healthful Living. As time went by I realized I wanted to stay in JROTC for more then the required 2 years because I enjoyed it so much. It has helped me learn from my mistakes and grow as a leader and a person/student. This year, I want to keep a consistent GPA of 3.5 or above as well as make the A/B Honor Roll. I also hope to be a good leader for the Cadets under me so that they will be inspired to continue in JROTC.
After high school, I want to go to college for a degree in communications and foreign languages. I hope to become a translator/interpreter in Spanish and possibly another language for the government or as a social worker.
c/1LT Dahlia Santos - Bravo Company Commander
I returned to JROTC because it helped me to improve my mindset and to have better discipline. The skills I learned here I can use to better improve myself now and in the future. JROTC has taught me many life skills and lessons from how to write a check, manage money, time management, public speaking and more.
This year, I plan to keep my grades up and to better myself even more by turning my work in on time. I want to push my company to the best of their abilities and to be better citizens for now and in the future.
After high school, I plan on joining the military and then attend Wake Tech for two years, then transfer to NC State University.
c/1SG Logan Dreifuss - Bravo Company First Sergeant
The reason I returned to JROTC is that it will continue to mold me into a better leader and improve my discipline and collaboration skills. It will also prepare me for a career in the military.

After high school, I plan to attend The Citadel to earn a degree in mechanical engineering and join the Navy as an officer.
c/2LT Ashley Lopez - Charlie Company Commander
I joined JROTC because I had to do military things and I knew it would teach me discipline and leadership skills. When I first came to Enloe, I was less confident with my academics, but because of JROTC I have learned to be more responsible with work.
I am now a sophomore entering my second year of JROTC. In addition to the class, I participate in the Enloe JROTC Drill Team.
After high school, I want to join the army to be a dog handler. I also aspire to travel the world and further explore my interest in photography.
c/SGT Avi Shukla - Charlie Company First Sergeant
I thought of joining JROTC because I wanted a different experience and was leaning towards JROTC since it was partially linked to the military. It turned out to be a great experience while teaching me to improve my mindset and taught me discipline and leadership skills.
My goal this year is to keep my grades up and improve on management of work and time. I also want to become a better leader to inspire younger Cadets.
After high school, I want to go to college get an aviation/aerospace engineer degree, and continue my career in aviation as a pilot either commercially or in the armed forces.
c/2LT Caden Williams - Delta Company Commander
I joined my freshmen year in hopes to better my chances at college. Though after joining, I gained so much more. Friends, leadership skills, memories, and so much more. Overall, this program has done nothing but benefit me in a multitude of ways. I plan to make this a great year.
My goals this year are to achieve A/B Honor Roll in all of my classes. I also hope to better my character, confidence, and social skills as I grow in school.
After high school, I plan to enlist and study dentistry during my enlistment.
c/1SG Emily Wilson - Delta Company First Sergeant
I initially joined JROTC because I wanted to do something with fitness. However, I stayed in the program because I noticed the positive effects on my confidence and how I interacted with others.
My goals this year include keeping my grades up and making sure I turn in all my assignments on time. I also want to prepare myself for my future by doing more physical training like running.
After high school, I want to stay in NC to train and become a firefighter. I would also like to have a family and a house.
c/2LT Gina Furukawa - Echo Company Commander
During my time in JROTC, I would like to gain more confidence in myself, while also learning what it takes to be a good leader and training myself to become a successful leader..
In the future, I would like to achieve a quiet, stable life. Possibly with a family.
c/SSG Niyanthri Thyagarajan - Echo Company First Sergeant
I stayed in JROTC for a second year because of the people in the program. Spending hours with my peers made them feel less like friends and more like family. I wanted to come back so I could spend more time with them and grow with them. They make me a better person. In addition to the class, I participate in the Enloe Drill Team.
My goals for this year are to become a better leader, maintain a good GPA, and explore more extracurriculars. I also want to become a better drill team member and motivate others to do the same.
In the future, I plan to become a lawyer and earn money to support my family.
