2022 JROTC BALL (FORMAL), NC STATE UNIVERSITY CLUB
All cadets in JROTC are expected to attend the Military Ball. It is part of the class and points will be awarded for 3rd quarter grades, one for uniform wear, one for participation and one for the ettiquette class of instruction.
Following are FAQ’s. What is a Military Ball? - A Military Ball is a social event that allows JROTC members and guests to enjoy a formal evening together based upon Military Tradition.
What time does it start, and how long does it last? - The Military Ball will officially start at 1800 hours, 6:00 PM. Cadets & guests may start arriving at 5:45PM
Must I dress up? - The Military Ball is a formal event, which requires proper attire. All cadets will wear their Military Class A Uniforms or dress formally for the occasion. Male guests should wear a coat and tie. Female guests should wear a nice dress or gown. No sneakers or jeans will be allowed. This is not acceptable dress for this event.
Must I have a date? - It is not necessary to have a date to attend the Military Ball. It is perfectly acceptable to come by yourself and meet with other friends at the ball. - Parents/Guardians are welcome and encouraged to attend.
How much will it cost? - The cost is $30.00 per person. This price will include a full course meal, refreshments, and music and entertainment by a DJ. If the cost is a problem for you, please talk to the MAJ Robertson or Sergeant First Class Williams.
Meal? - The meal will be a buffet style meal, where the guests and cadets will be called, by tables, to get their meal in an orderly manner. Not like your normal lunch period at school. You will then return to your table and start to eat.
Cake cutting ceremony? - The cake cutting ceremony is a tradition in honor of the JROTC cadets.
Pictures? - A professional photographer will be set up in the from 6 PM – 9PM to take pictures of cadets and their guests. Prices are very reasonable.
Guest Speaker? - There will be an introduction for the guest speaker. The speech will last approximately 10 minutes.
Retiring of the Colors? - This is when the color guard will retrieve the colors at the end of the awards ceremony. Everyone will stand for this ceremony.
Closing Remarks? - There will be closing remarks by the Battalion Commander; and the Senior Army Instructor. this will mark the end of the formal session of the Military Ball.
